1. Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead
-Book Order : Vampire Academy, Frostbite, Shadow Kiss, Blood Promise, Spirit Bound, and Last Sacrifice
Y/A series that will send you on a roller coaster of emotions. Loyal friendships, tested relationships, and betrayals will all come into play. Some battles will be won and some will be lost. The series is coming to an end and I am excited to find out how Richelle ties up all the ends with Rose and Lissa. Must read for teens and adults.
2. Guild Hunter Series by Nalini Singh
-Book Order : Angel’s Blood , Archangels’ Kiss, Archangels’ Consort (coming 2011)
Excellent Love story! Girl meets Boy. Girl stands up to Boy. Boy falls in love with Girl. Boy saves Girl and the story just keeps getting better. I don’t want to give anything away, but I promise it won’t disappoint.
3. Chicagoland Vampires Series by Chloe Neill
-Book Order : Some Girls Bite, Friday Night Bites, Twice Bitten, Hard Bitten (coming 2011)
Excellent Surprise! I have read quite a few Vampire books and this series is original in that area. Sexy, Strong, no bullsh*t lead female character, Merit. She used to run away from her problems until she almost died and was turned into a vamp. to save her life. Now she has skills that most don’t and she is learning that she can’t take a seat in life but needs to take a stand. Ethan Sullivan, head of Cadogan house and her master, is one of my favorite male lead characters out of all the series. This series will keep your attention from beginning to end and will have you wanting more.
4. Kate Daniels Series by Ilona Andrews
-Book Order : Magic Bites, Magic Burns, Magic Strikes, Magic Bleeds, Magic Slays (coming 2011)
Love Ilona’s world. This world is so completely different then any other that is hard to explain and takes a few chapters to soak up. But I promise once you understand it, the plot thickens. I love that the world swings from magic use to technology use. Kate Daniels has a mysterious past with an unknown future. She loses the last living relative at the beginning of the series. One problem leads to another and she finds herself making choices she has sworn never to make. Enter Curran the Beast Lord of about all of the southeast USA. He is one intimidating guy and yet Kate pokes and prods him.
5. Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost
-Book Order : Halfway to the Grave, One Foot in the Grave, At Grave’s End, Destined for an Early Grave, This Side of the Grave (coming 2011)
Who doesn’t enjoy British humor mixed with Vampire’s and Vampire hunter’s. Really I think this book has some of the best quotes. Cat in not your average human. She stumbles into Bones, Vampire Bounty hunter and sparks fly in more ways than one.
6. Sookie Stackhouse Series by Charlaine Harris
-Book Order : Dead Until Dark, Living Dead in Dallas, Club Dead, Dead to the World, Dead as a Doornail, Definitely Dead, All Together Dead, From Dead to Worse, Dead and Gone, Dead in the Family, Dead Reckoning (coming 2011)
Fell in love with the series from the beginning. I know Trueblood is a great TV show, but the books are 10 times better. The books are great easy reads that are entertaining from beginning to end. Sookie is a typical southern girl with an unlikely handicap or gift. The vampires are funny and yet troubling. The humans actually cause the most problems due to their lack of acceptance to the unknown. The shifters are all over the place. Every book was a joy to read and re-read.
7.Study Series by Maria V. Snyder
-Book Order : Poison Study, Magic Study, and Fire Study
Story about forgiveness and overcoming adversity. Love this series. Yelena and Valek is probably one of my favorite love stories written. Yelena is reborn throughout the series due to Valek, commanders assassin, determination and love for her. Excellent book series for all ages.
8. Allie Beckstrom Series by Devon Monk
-Book Order : Magic to the Bone, Magic in the Blood, Magic in the Shadows, Magic on the Storm, Magic at the Gate, Magic on the Hunt (coming 2011)
Allie comes from one seriously dysfunctional family. Her saving grace in Zayvion who was actually sent by her father to watch over her. Love blossoms between them and their relationship goes 0 to 60 to begin with, the hit’s it’s brakes due to an accident. They have a constant struggle with each other and with trying to right all the wrongs that her dad and the counsel of magic made. These books will keep you coming back for more.
9. Harry Potter Series by J.K. Rowling
-Book Order : Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
Really what is there for me to say. J.K.Rowling is an awesome author. Her world is one of a kind full of fantasy for all ages. It is great to watch Harry grow up and learn some tough life lessons. I have re-read this series more than I want to admit. This series is a classic for me.
10. Blue Bloods Series by Melissa De la Cruz
-Book Order : Blue Bloods, Masquerade, Revelations, The Van Alen Legacy, Misguided Angel, Lost in Time (coming 2011)
My favorite thing about this series is that Melissa De la Cruz is not afraid to “go there”. I love how she has taken parts of the Bible and mixed/twined them into her books. Excellent books to get your brain going and enjoy a great vampire/fallen angel series. Really nothing else compares to it. Great for teens and adults.
